Capital University Launches the First Event of the “Capital Global Scholars Series” Initiative to Promote Academic Internationalization
Capital University organized the first event of the Capital Global Scholars Series initiative under the patronage of Dr. El-Sayed Kandil, President of the University, Dr. Emad Abu El-Dahab, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and under the supervision of the University’s International Relations Office.
The initiative aims to highlight outstanding academic and research experiences of university students and faculty members who have received international scholarships and fellowships to study or conduct research at global universities. This effort seeks to transfer international expertise to the university’s academic community, encourage a culture of applying for international scholarships, and introduce students to global academic and research pathways.
The first session of the series was held under the title “From CAPITAL to CHINA.” The International Relations Office hosted Youssef Osama Mahrous Qubaisi, a teaching assistant in the Spinning and Weaving Department, Faculty of Applied Arts, and a master’s student at Jiangnan University in China. During the session, he shared his academic journey and experience studying abroad, highlighting the key opportunities and challenges he encountered, and offering valuable advice to students interested in pursuing international study opportunities.
The session also introduced the Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC), explaining the available opportunities, the required application documents, and the main procedures and steps students should follow when applying for these scholarships.
Dr. El-Sayed Kandil, President of Capital University, emphasized the university’s commitment to supporting academic internationalization and strengthening its global presence. He noted that providing opportunities for students and faculty members to learn from successful international experiences contributes to building a generation capable of competing in global academic environments. He also added that the university encourages its students and researchers to benefit from international scholarship and academic exchange programs to transfer knowledge and expertise and to further develop the education and research system.
For his part, Dr. Emad Abu El-Dahab, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, stated that such initiatives represent an important pillar in supporting graduate studies and scientific research. They help introduce students and researchers to international scholarship opportunities and application procedures while enabling them to benefit from the experiences of colleagues who have already pursued academic and research paths at international universities. He added that exchanging expertise with international academic institutions opens wide horizons for joint research collaboration and enhances the university’s standing in global rankings.
Dr. Israa Yasser Dawood, Director of the University’s International Relations Office, also emphasized that launching the “Capital Global Scholars Series” is part of the office’s efforts to promote a culture of internationalization within the university and to support students and researchers in exploring available international academic opportunities. She noted the office’s commitment to providing guidance and support to students interested in applying for international scholarships by introducing application requirements and organizing informational sessions with students and researchers who have successfully studied abroad.
The event was attended by a number of faculty members and university students, along with members of the International Relations Office. Appreciation was expressed for their excellent organization and distinguished representation. The audience actively engaged in discussions and asked questions about opportunities for studying abroad and scholarship application procedures, reflecting the academic community’s strong interest in engaging with global educational experiences.
This initiative comes as part of Capital University’s ongoing commitment to promoting academic internationalization and encouraging its students and researchers to take advantage of international opportunities in education and scientific research, while building bridges of cooperation with universities and research institutions around the world.
