Dr.Ashraf Mansor, the president of the board of trustees of the German university in Cairo comfirmed that the universities of Stuttgart and Ulm are among the most important partner universities of the German University in Cairo, and an essential pillar for them explained that the relations between the university in Egypt and the university in Germany have been equal for 25 years

Mansour explained that he met with a group of graduates students from the German university

they have inspiring success stories and reviewed a video for success stories that represent the role of the German university in development in Egypt, and another video monitors the spread of university graduates students around the world from east to west and from north to south, striking that these examples will benefit all of the world, not just Egypt or Germany

He added that the German university graduates in Cairo represent one of the pillars for development in Egypt and the countries of the world, and they are working in several different vital fields, noting that Stuttgart city is one of the most important industrial strongholds in the world, and the state of Baden-Württemberg is one of the best economies out of the 20 economies around the world

Dr.Mansour explained that the universities in Germany feature strong industry and scientific research, pointing out that the German university in Cairo collaborates with 300 universities, of whom 67 are strategic partners, and the university sends almost 2000 students yearly to the universities in Germany, striking that Germany has more than 400 universities

Mansour confirmed that the education system between Egypt and Germany is different, but some study subjects that are unified, which gives every university, its character and strength and it also grants competitiveness for development

On his part, Dr. Wolfram Russell, the president of the Sturttgart German university, said that there is considerable cooperation between the German university and the German university in Cairo since its establishment Otherwise, in cooperation with the state of Baden-Württemberg,

The president of Stuttgart University pointed out that the university is also interested in the humanities. and it cooperates with the German University in all different fields and programs

noting that over the past five years, 174 students from the German University in Cairo have attended the University of Stuttgart, and they stayed six months

the students had the freedom of choice between executing their graduation projects, ending a part of their master thesis, or ending their master thesis completely
He explained that there were 50 students who ended their master thesis with superiority, and they got a whole scholarship for a PhD degree

noting that the students of the German university in Cairo are never different for their peers of the German students, but they also excel in several technological and engineering programs

He said that the cooperation is not stopping at the exchanging students, but there are a great group of Stuttgart University professors teaching at the German university in Cairo, along with cooperation in improving curricula to keep all quality components

Russell pointed out that the state of Baden-Württemberg is considered one of the most important industrial locomotives, so the German University in Cairo is the transit gateway for German industry to Africa to open market places for German industry in Egypt and Africa,

he explained that the research and industrial society in the state of Baden-Württemberg is interested in qualifying the cadres and labor that will benefit its role in Egypt and Africa, he mentioned that Egypt is an important strategic partner for industry in the state of Baden-Württemberg

As for classifications, Russell talked according to the Shanghai classification that Stuttgart University rated one of the best 200 and 250 universities globally,

it’s according to standards of this classification, but according to strengths as for technology curricula and engineering Stuttgart university is considered one of the best 50 universities globally, If the 17 sustainable development goals were taken into consideration with classifications, we would find that the Stuttgart University is the first in the world

As for university special funding from industrial authorities, Russell said that “we are always competing to get large funding from the industry, and our funding is about 320 million euros annually

Russell discussed future jobs and some students abstaining from studying specific programs, and he said that “we have a problem in motivating students to study some programs like natural science, information science, and technological science

we try to attract students to study these programs to provide labor and it’s a problem that all over the world suffers from it, but I admit the situation in Egypt is better than Germany

Here In Germany, a lot of females don’t prefer to study natural science, unlike Egypt. I won’t discuss disappearing many programs or jobs; that means we didn’t delete it, but we should improve them, and we will put a map for new jobs and how it reflects on developing programs at universities. Yes, I say that, we have students abstaining from some programs

Russell spoke about the advantages of the German university in Cairo, He said that “the most important advantages of the German university in Cairo are its attention to students, and the percentage of the teaching staff for students is very special, and it gives a type of familiarity that is unavailable in Stuttgart University.

It also means that the students of the German university in Egypt are more associated with the university, and they have a system they follow, and there are people who guide and assist them”

Silka Vibrecht, Vice President of the Stuttgart University of Global Affairs, said that she thanked Dr.Mansour for his vision in establishing the German university in Cairo

which made it a facilitated way to deal and communication between all parties, and she explained that the German university’s flexibility has facilitated the process of student exchange because of the curriculum unification
