AUC TO HOST A BOOK TALK WITH EGYPTOLOGIST ZAHI HAWASS

The American University in Cairo Press (AUC Press) will host renowned Egyptologist Zahi Hawas in an in-person book talk to discuss his newly released paperback edition of Mountains of the Pharaohs: The Untold Story of the Pyramid Builder, Tuesday, October 8; 7.00 pm – 8:00 pm, Ewart Hall, AUC Tahrir campus.

In the book, Hawass explores the royal family of the Fourth Dynasty of Egypt’s Old Kingdom,
which reigned over a highly advanced civilization. It was during this dynasty that the
magnificent pyramids of Giza were built. These monuments attest not only to the dynasty’s
supreme power, but also to the engineering expertise and architectural sophistication that
flourished under its rule.
“We are delighted to bring the paperback edition of Mountains of the Pharaohs to readers
worldwide. Dr. Hawass’ work offers an extraordinary window onto the fascinating world of
ancient Egypt, and we at AUC Press are proud to continue our tradition of publishing
significant works that deepen our understanding of this remarkable civilization,” said Thomas
Willshire, AUC Press executive director.
The event is open to the public with registration; to register, please use this link: Mountains
