“From University to Industry: Egypt’s First Tripartite Training Agreement Between UFE and ETF”.
The French University in Egypt (UFE) marked a historic milestone with the signing of Egypt’s first tripartite apprenticeship agreement, strengthening collaboration between academia and industry to foster youth employability and innovation.
The French University in Egypt (UFE) organized, on Monday, November 10, 2025, on its campus in El Shorouk, a round table entitled “From University to Industry: A Path Full of Promises,” in partnership with ETF and MG World.
This event, held under the banner of educational innovation and closer cooperation between higher education and the business world, was marked by the signing of the first tripartite apprenticeship agreement in Egypt between ETF, UFE, and Ms. Sandra Hatem, the student concerned. ETF, a leading company in the development, construction, and maintenance of railway infrastructure, is partnering with UFE in this pioneering initiative, from which Ms. Sandra Hatem becomes the first beneficiary.
The round table was organized on the occasion of the CEO of ETF, Mr. Fabrice Guegan’s visit to Egypt during the TransMea 2025 exhibition, a major regional event dedicated to sustainable mobility and transport innovation. This partnership opens a new chapter in Franco-Egyptian cooperation and promotes a training model that anchors university learning in real-world professional experience.
A Fruitful Dialogue Between Education and Industry
The event gathered leading figures from both the academic and corporate sectors:
Prof. Mohamed Rochdi, President of the French University in Egypt
Mr. Fabrice Guegan, CEO of ETF
Ms. Marianne Georges, CEO of MG World
Moderated by Mr. Ehab Barssoum, Founding Director of UFE’s Career Center
In his opening remarks, Prof. Rochdi reaffirmed UFE’s commitment to aligning university programs with the evolving needs of the labor market through active partnerships with French and Egyptian companies.
“This agreement is a first of its kind in Egypt and it perfectly aligns with UFE’s strategy to strengthen cooperation between academia and industry,” said Prof. Mohamed Rochdi. “Through partnerships with leading French companies such as ETF, we aim to ensure that our students benefit from real professional exposure from day one, broadening their perspectives and preparing them to confidently enter the job market.”
Inspiring Speeches of Vision and Commitment
In his keynote address, Mr. Fabrice Guegan, CEO of ETF, celebrated this milestone moment, emphasizing the importance of vocational training in preparing young people for future careers.
“This agreement marks the beginning of a long and promising collaboration between ETF and UFE,” said Mr. Fabrice Guegan. “Together, we are investing in young talents who will shape the future of infrastructure and innovation around the world.”
Ms. Marianne Georges, CEO of MG World, shared her insights on reimagining education pathways to meet the needs of modern organizations, stating:
“This is the moment to redesign the university learning journey. Bridging the gap between campus and the job market isn’t a dream, it’s a strategy. And it starts with curricula that prepare students to become employable, valuable professionals the day they graduate.”
A Milestone for Franco-Egyptian Educational Cooperation
Through this initiative, UFE reaffirms its mission as a bridge between academia and industry, promoting a training model that directly responds to market needs and supports the professional integration of Egypt’s youth.
